The BroniesNL organization is happy to finally announce the 16th National BroniesNL Meetup, which will be held on saturday the 21st of November ’15 in our glorious capital city of Amsterdam. We will be welcoming you once more at our previous location, close to the Dam, for a fantastic party where we hope to see familiar faces and meet new friends! Please make sure to read the information below concerning the meetup venue, the official rules AND the interesting facts you’ll like to know about Meet 16!

Where:

Sociëteit L.A.N.X
Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 167
1012 RK Amsterdam
www.lanx.nl/zaalverhuur

When:

Saturday, 21st of November, from 11:30 (doors open) to 20:00
Official opening at 12:00

Theme:

“The Equestria Games”

Getting there:

From Amsterdam CS, the venue can be easily reached on foot or by public transport. Take tram line 1, 2, 13 or 14 to tram stop “The Dam” and walk for less than five minutes down the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal to reach the entrance on the left side of the street. Go up the stone stairs, into the building and from there you'll know where to go. Public transport is highly recommended since the venue is in the busy center of the city, but if you do travel by car then the best parking option is the Q-Park situated at the Nieuwezijds Kolk 18 or the Q-Park near the Bijenkorf shopping mall, situated at the Beursplein 15. Parking here will cost you €2,00 per twenty minutes, to a maximum of €52 for a whole day.

About the venue (important!):

We have again rented the same two spaces, the Zuilenzaal (main hall) and the smaller Bokmabar, both linked to each other and situated on the second floor which is only accessible by stairs. Furthermore, the venue won't be providing a wifi connection.

As usual, we will serve our own snacks including all sorts of candy and peanuts, for free. We will also be selling the traditional hot dogs. But we weren't allowed to bring our own beverages this time (except water), so these will have to be bought individually at the bar in the Zuilenzaal. Members of the organization will be running the bar and drinks can be purchased with CASH ONLY. Prices are as follows:

– Tea: €1,00
– Coffee: €1,50
– Soda: €1,50
– Beer: €1,50
– Wine: €2,00
– Liquor: €2,00
– Mix: €3,50

Please mind this considering alcohol, because we want to be absolutely clear: we will not under any circumstance serve alcoholic beverages to underage bronies, nor will we tolerate people being drunk or people who buy or provide alcohol for or to an underage brony. We are legally bound to ask for an ID if we think it's necessary and anyone who fails to present an ID when asked won't get booze. Anyone who otherwise fails to comply with the rules will be requested to leave at once and is to be escorted outside.

Artwork Awesomeness for BroniesNL Magazine #2:

As you all may know, we are still working on the second issue of BroniesNL Magazine, which will be released during Meet 16. This edition will be slightly more “serious” than its predecessor and will contain news, interviews, con-related stuff and still a whole lot of nonsense. But we wanted to personalize the magazine with the spirit of our community and we decided to brighten it up with true Dutch brony artwork! Here we have our first problem: we don’t have any recent art and we’re not that great with a brush, so we’d like to ask all of you to submit your artwork for the magazine!

What does this mean for you? It means that you can send us your artwork and if it gets approved you’ll see it back in printed glory on one of the magazine’s pages. But hear this: the best piece of art will be featured as cover-art on, you guessed it, the cover of our newest issue!

We won’t be able to publish everything, we won’t be able to buy enough pages for that, but don’t let this hold you back! There’s nothing wrong with giving it your best shot and we know that we have some fantastic artists in our community, known and unknown.

Volunteers:

During the preparations of the previous meet and on the day itself, we have had very positive experiences with our newly formed Volunteers Brigade. And because we are still looking to improve and better organize the national meets so that you can have an even better experience, we ask again for enthusiastic volunteers who want to work together with us on tasks like making the venue ready for the meet, setting up light/sound systems, helping out during events and of course the cleanup afterward. So for those who have team spirit and are interested in being a part of the national meets: you can sign up for the volunteer brigade. For more information, please read the related thread linked here: http://bronies.nl/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?195091.

All the people who have already signed up as a volunteer don’t have to sign up again!

Events:

Finally, it has happened! When we were making a test-version of the Meet 16 schedule, we found out that we have more than enough events. This is partially thanks to the people who helped us think of cool stuff to do. To those who shared their ideas; you have our gratitude!

The official schedule will be presented to you soon, so you can all see for yourself what we have in store for you. You can count on something a little "sportive" because of the theme ;)

But besides this, we still encourage everypony who wants to do something special on the meet, like organizing a drawing contest, to “just do it” if others are into it too! Just keep in mind that we can’t alter the master plan for mini-events.

Finally:

We of the BroniesNL organization hope to see a ton of both new and familiar faces on the 21st. As usual, entrance is free and the average age is around 18.

If you have any questions regarding the meet and/or the venue, please feel free and do not hesitate to contact us via our organization email address. We will respond with a proper answer as soon as possible.
Last but not least, we would like to thank all of you, the community, in advance for sticking around and simply being the awesome group of people that you are. You make the national meets worth organizing.

Until the 21st!!
