Fillies and Gentlecolts,

We are thrilled to finally announce the 15th BroniesNL national Meetup, which will take place on Saturday the 23rd of May in Amsterdam. Here, we have arranged a whole new venue, situated at the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal (close to the Dam), currently owned by the “Lanx student society”. It has taken a long, long time for us to find a suitable spot, so first of all the organization would really like to thank everypony who helped searching for a venue and we sure hope that you will like what we have arranged for you in our capital city.

Getting there:

From Amsterdam CS, the venue can be easily reached on foot or by public transport. Take tram line 1, 2, 13 or 14 to tram stop “The Dam” and walk for less than five minutes down the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal to reach the entrance on the left side of the street. Go up the stone stairs, into the building and from there you'll know where to go. Public transport is highly recommended since the venue is in the busy center of the city, but if you do travel by car then the best parking option is the Q-Park situated at the Nieuwezijds Kolk 18 or the Q-Park near the Bijenkorf shopping mall, situated at the Beursplein 15. Parking here will cost you €2,00 per twenty minutes, to a maximum of €52 for a whole day.

About the venue (important!):

We have rented two spaces, the Zuilenzaal (main hall) and the smaller Bokmabar, both linked to each other and situated on the second floor which is only accessible by stairs. We have been informed that the Bokmabar is equipped with an exhaust to filter the air, so it can be used as a smoking room (please stand under the exhaust when smoking). Be aware that if someone is caught smoking outside of the designated smoking area, we are bound to a fine of €125 which will be presented to the one(s) breaking the rule. Furthermore, the venue won't be providing a wifi connection.

As usual, we will serve our own snacks including all sorts of candy and peanuts, for free. We will also be selling the traditional hot dogs. But we weren't allowed to bring our own beverages this time (except water), so these will have to be bought individually at the bar in the Zuilenzaal. Members of the organization will be running the bar and drinks can be purchased with CASH ONLY. Prices are as follows:

– Tea: €1,00
– Coffee: €1,50
– Soda: €1,50
– Beer: €1,50
– Wine: €2,00
– Liquor: €2,00
– Mix: €3,50

Please mind this considering alcohol, because we want to be absolutely clear: we will not under any circumstance serve alcoholic beverages to underage bronies, nor will we tolerate people being drunk or people who buy or provide alcohol for or to an underage brony. We are legally bound to ask for an ID if we think it's necessary and anyone who fails to present an ID when asked won't get booze. Anyone who otherwise fails to comply with the rules will be requested to leave at once and is to be escorted outside.

New auction rules:

Because we've had a few bumps in how we were running the traditional auction, we've reviewed and rewritten some of the rules to make it a better experience for the public, the artists and the auction master. This includes the introduction of a so called “silent auction” meant for smaller items and some other minor changes. For a fully detailed lay out of the new rules, please read the auction thread linked here ( http://bronies.nl/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?195084 ).

Volunteers:

We are looking to improve and better organize the national meets so that you can have an even better experience. However, not even Alicorns have all the power so we can't do that alone. We need enthusiastic volunteers who want to work together with us on tasks like making the venue ready for the meet, setting up light/sound systems, helping out during events and of course the cleanup afterward. So for those who have team spirit and are interested in being a part of the national meets: you can sign up for the volunteer brigade. For more information, please read the related thread linked here: http://bronies.nl/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?195091.

Events:

Members of the organization and people from the community are already working on events and several good ideas are already taking shape, but with the addition of more bronies with inspiring plans we can certainly get an awesome program ready for the day!

If you have an idea for an event, you can share it with the organization via our email address (orga@bronies.nl) and you can also pitch it in a thread on the forum to see if the community is into it. The sky and local law are the only limits to your imagination. Maybe you're into singing and you want to have a pony karaoke party, or perhaps you're really good at Settlers of Catan and you can organize an ultimate board game deathmatch during the day! Or you're creating something MLP/community-related that you want people to know about, and you make a presentation to tell everypony about it. These are just examples of what is possible, so now it's up to you to make the events of Meet 15 happen! For more event-related information, please check the related thread here: http://bronies.nl/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?195084

We of the BroniesNL organization hope to see a ton of both new and familiar faces on the 23rd. As usual, entrance is free despite the valuable opinions we gathered in the polls (which we are grateful for) and the average age is around 18.

If you have any questions regarding the meet and/or the venue, please feel free and do not hesitate to contact us via our organization email address. We will respond with a proper answer as soon as possible.

Last but not least, we would like to thank all of you, the community, in advance for sticking around and simply being the awesome group of people that you are. You make the national meets worth organizing.

Until the 23rd!!
